Abstract

Subject to approval from Ministry of Oil & Gas, Sultanate of Oman.

There are many carbonate fields within Sultanate of Oman where well data show a lateral change in the saturation-depth profile, and the depth of the HCWC, across a field. This variation across the field has in the past often been interpreted to be due to compartmentalising faults, and a change in oil geochemistry has been taken as supporting evidence for compartmentalisation.
